Vietnam and China sign two cooperation agreements on trade.

Two Ministers from Vietnam and China signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) regarding cross-border economic zones and supply chains to promote substantive and effective trade cooperation.

At noon on April 15, 2026, witnessed by the General Secretaries and Presidents of Vietnam and China, Minister of Industry and Trade Le Manh Hung and Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao signed the "Memorandum of Understanding on establishing a working group for negotiations to promote the construction of the Vietnam-China Cross-Border Economic Cooperation Zone" and the "Memorandum of Understanding on establishing a working group for cooperation in the Vietnam-China production and supply chains."

The signing of these documents clearly demonstrates the determination and serves as a highlight for both Ministries in concretizing the common perception of the top leaders of Vietnam and China. It aims to deepen economic and trade cooperation in a substantive and effective manner, while contributing to practical outcomes for the high-level leadership's visit.

Furthermore, it establishes cooperation frameworks based on practical needs and mutual benefit, aligned with the principles and regulations of regional and global cooperation mechanisms of which both countries are members. This is intended to continue fostering closer and more sustainable economic and trade relations in the coming period.
